Certificate expired
The website certificate is expired, which Chrome *constantly* nags about.

Even Seamonkey complains, but still has an option to permanently accept it nevertheless (without nagging)

Re: Certificate expired
Have patience. I see that multiple new certificates have been issued: https://crt.sh/?q=atari-forum.com. Thus, I assume the admins are already working on this problem.

Re: Certificate expired
It was raised via one of the FB groups and both Dal & Brume are sorting it out.

Re: Certificate expired
it's possible to use let's encrypt, which is free
Re: Certificate expired
Let's Encrypt is a free SSL provider but the Auto-Renew every 90 days feature in cPanel is a pain.
If cPanel is available Comodo Issued free SSLs are also an option.

Re: Certificate expired
Really fixed? Just got a different error in Firefox: unknown issuer (new certificate seems to be from GeoTrust)

Re: Certificate expired
Works for me. Firefox 88.0.1. You seem to be using an old version judging by the screenshot.ThorstenOtto wrote: Mon May 24, 2021 11:30 am Really fixed? Just got a different error in Firefox: unknown issuer
As was the previous one that expired on Saturday.
Re: Certificate expired
That being said, the atari-forum.com server is not delivering the intermediate [1] certificate:
https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker. ... -forum.com
It might increase compatibility with clients/browsers if it was correctly configured to do so.
[1] What is an intermediate certificate? Browsers only have a limited set of certificates they inherently trust: root certificates. Generally, the certificate for a server is not directly signed by the root certificate, but by an intermediate. In case of atari-forum.com: atari-forum.com <- signed by GeoTrust TLS DV RSA Mixed SHA256 2020 CA-1 <- signed by DigiCert Global Root CA <- trusted by browser. Browsers have to check the entire chain to be certain that a certificate is valid. You can help them by sending the intermediate certificate, too. This is considered TLS/SSL best practice: https://github.com/ssllabs/research/wik ... ate-chains

Re: Certificate expired
Letsencrypt certificates can be automatically checked and updated from a cron job. No problem at all.
