So I've bought a standard V4 CSR8510 BT dongle, but I can't figure out how to set it up.
I followed Wiki guide, pressing F11 on KB, while BT gamepad is in pairing mode, but the pairing window on Mister appears for half a second and immediately shows nothing found.it doesn't even attempt to search.
everything is updated to latest version.
what Am I doing wrong?
Bluetooth USB dongle issue
Re: Bluetooth USB dongle issue
Probably nothing, I've seen many of the 'CSR v4.0' marked Bluetooth dongles not work with MiSTer, however you will find they work perfectly under Windows.
I found this out during my testing of many types which all looked physically the same but were not once you dismantled them, I think you will find it's because yours is not using a CSR8510 chip.
When you boot up your MiSTer with your dongle connected you should see a Bluetooth logo automatically appear in the top of the menu bar, even before you begin to use the pairing script.

Re: Bluetooth USB dongle issue
try to change USB port for BT dongle. Also remove all other not-necessary for test USB devices.
After inserting BT dongle, make sure you;ve power cycled the MiSTer.

tried all of that.Sorgelig wrote:try to change USB port for BT dongle. Also remove all other not-necessary for test USB devices.

didn't work, could be the case of an incompatible dongle.
Re: Bluetooth USB dongle issue
there is no BT logo displayed.Nat wrote:Probably nothing, I've seen many of the 'CSR v4.0' marked Bluetooth dongles not work with MiSTer, however you will find they work perfectly under Windows.

I think it can be a incompatible dongle, not much I can do other than ordering a different one and see if it works..

Re: Bluetooth USB dongle issue
Just be sure to search for CSR8510 or BCM20702 and make sure the product description has one of those listed. That's the safest way to find one. Aim for the CSR one though. Documentation states that the BCM one doesn't work well with reboots.Kraken wrote:there is no BT logo displayed.

Re: Bluetooth USB dongle issue
The one I’m having problem with is actually a CSR8510.(or so the listing / description claims).Sigismond0 wrote:Just be sure to search for CSR8510 or BCM20702 and make sure the product description has one of those listed.
