CosmosEX with Mint or MagiC

Is there any progress concerning the use of the CosmosEX along with MINT or MagiC?

Bump!

So translated drive still does not work in Mint and Magic?

If there was an API description on the ACSI level, it probably would make it easier to develop such drivers?

It is really awkward that there is no all around solution for networking on Falcon 060…

But CosmoSex would be perfect if it will works under MagiC.

There is an excellent solution I keep telling people about: PiSCSI. It is a device that emulates drives, cd ROMs, zips, and Daynaport. The Daynaport can be used over WiFi. So my Falcon connects to the internet over the PiSCSI WiFi. (I also mount mine internally) There are drivers for mint and magic.

GitHub: https://github.com/PiSCSI/piscsi

Buy from US or EU, lots of places. Works on any SCSI Atari.

HD Driver maker Uwe Siemet has worked a lot towards Atari compatibility and also written apps to speak directly to the PiSCSI, info here: https://www.hddriver.net/en/piscsi.html

Nice one! :)

I was not aware of this! Thanks!

Maybe we should open a thread regarding this PiSCSI...?

There have actually already been a few different discussions around the forum. One thread was talking about possible SCSI graphics emulation too: viewtopic.php?t=41541 (it used to be called RaSCSI)

But yes - the community is GREAT (unlike Cosmosex, which seems totally dead) They have an ACTIVE Discord where the Devs are very easy to speak to. I think this device is so successful because it is open source and is useful for ALL SCSI computers. At first the Daynaport support did not work for Atari, but thankfully Uwe Siemet and Roger Burrows of Anodyne software got on-board and with me as a beta-tester they finally got it working on Atari.

I currently use a PiSCSI inside both my Falcon and my TT, absolutely brilliant stuff!

Another AWESOME aspect is that on the PiSCSI, with a single click of a button you can install an 'old-web' proxy, which filters all internet traffic through the Daynaport to the Atari, so you can browse websites very quickly!

I wonder if would be possible to adopt PiSCSI to ACSI port.

Not well versed in all the Ras Pi hardware.
Is PiSCSI required to tie into the Falcons terminators as the CLAB type SCSI adapters do?
Looked at the CosmosEX device. Seems like a decent solution for multipurpose of functions, but other than that (which is a lot), no overall improvement of the Falcons design.

I use a DynaPort SCSI Ethernet on the Falcon at times, as well as Nature's Ethernet adapter. Only one I have and not tried is the EtherNat.

I see there info about Mega STE ACSI to SCSI adapter. And I mean Pi connected directly to ACSI bus.

Hmm, he talks about differences between ACSI and SCSI. Perhaps you could mail him to double check.
