Cheat / Solution for "To be on Top" ?
Hi,
the guys from TEX / Thalion did the Atari ST conversion of Chris Huelsbeck's "To be on Top" many years ago.
I made a small website about the Atari ST-version and am looking for a screenshot of the TV studio, when you managed to reach number #1-#3 in the charts.
The hints I found online didn't work with the Atari ST version. I guess you have to collect and use some "inspirations" (=parts of music you can select to build a song) of a specific colour. Did anybody hack the game to take a look at the code or has some useful hints (or even an Atari ST screenshot of the TV studio ("final level"))?

I think Klaz or Maartau were looking at it but both are hibernating at the moment so it's a case of as and when they return.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).
I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Here's an off-topic but slightly related bit of info:
I was chatting with Chris Huelsbeck last year and he told me that an Atari ST version of "To Be on Top" was never made. I pointed him to the AL page for the game and I don't think he was very happy. I guess the publisher never let him know about it (and therefore he must not have been paid).

I finally managed to find a screenshot of the TV studio in issue 13 (september 1988) of the French magazine Micro News:AtariFan wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2008 10:28 pm I made a small website about the Atari ST-version and am looking for a screenshot of the TV studio, when you managed to reach number #1-#3 in the charts.

I would still be glad if someone could provide a screenshot taken from within an emulator...

I’ll post it soon as I recently trained it so I could SNDH all the music. Quite a few tunes in there!

Here's the TV studio

I'll post a video of the "end sequence" later. re: trainer, I manually changed memory addresses in Steem debug, but I can give those addresses in the next post.

Right here's the end screen
https://youtu.be/CoPQFQ7Xl7I
For info patches (using the Automation version - of course!)
Change memory address $26a8 to $603a and $2660 to $6042 makes you invincible to baddies
Change $3372 to $5 and that should allow you to enter the TV studio
And finally change $724a to $7004, this means you chart position will eventually get to #1 no matter how bad you are at jamming.

Re: Cheat / Solution for "To be on Top" ?

To be on Top was only available for C64 & Atari ST.Original version on C64 and Amiga by Chris Huelsbeck
Re: Cheat / Solution for "To be on Top" ?
Another quick re-release of an Automation menu. This one relates to the game To Be On Top by Rainbow Arts. There are very few cracks of this game, just ours (by Neil) and Jabba of Superior spring to mind. Anyway the game is damn hard and unforgiving. So whilst ripping the music out (to SNDH) I decided to train the game so you are able to view the end sequence. Apart from that I have updated the menu code slightly adding a sid-i-fied Star Paws tune and bouncy scroller. So download Automation 306v3.
