Tested with 512K and TOS 1.0, running Klaz crack from floppy should work just fine. It does for me.
I suppose you will need 1MB to run it from harddisk.

In any case rtunning those without any other stuffs loaded from hd is a must.

Thanks for testing!

Now, I also got the Klaz Version running from disk on the 4 MB Mega STE, but only when booting clean without harddisk. 3.8 MB seems to be the minimum requirement on this configuration for some reason, might be something machine specific.

Seems a simple STFM is a good choice then. Having the release date and filesize mind this seems plausible. I may try that later.

Slight improvement, but still miles away from a "typical score".

As suggested, I am starting in wave 3 (medium) and am stuck at the end of the "3D tunnel" each time. At the end there is this little rectangle on the floor, but I have no idea what I should do there to not lose! :-)

Regarding config: I am now using the Klaz version from a Floppy with a clean boot. No way to start this from my 4 MB MSTEwhen booting from harddisk. Really strange, but at least I can play it for now. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

754175
Started wave 3.
Note that if during the Death Star attack, you only fire at the end, you get an additional bonus (100,000 points or so).
This score could be improved:
- I missed the target on first death star, then you have to do this stage again..and I lost one shield
- Darth' Vader ship, which scores more points when hit, only shows at first game and I did this score on the 2nd...
stwars_JM.gif
PS: what is quite frustated is to miss a target or lose a shield due to frame rate dropping :-(

Cheers,
Jean

Nice. That's a big bonus in a game where they're so hard to achieve

Like in the movie, shoot that little rectangle, that's the Death Star Exhaust port they are aiming for....

Concratulations Jean. Hope you join us more often. Tried to beat your score and changed to a MiSTer based setup I prepare for the GemTOS, but your score was to good.

Hi,
1,157,063
I knew I could do (much) better :-)
stwars_JL.gif
Actually, there a trick: the first time you "Use the Force" (i.e. not shoot at Death Star level), you score 500,000 (!)
Then you 'only' score 100,000.
Cheers,
Jean

Ahh. I didn't realise that at all. I thought it was based on shots at the exhaust port

Hi again,

Sorry, my bad; I meant that at this level, you DON'T shoot at fireballs, but dodge them. You only shoot at the exhaust port after "Use the Force, Luke!" message is heard.
