Hi there! Thanks for this great release!
Tried it on my 2MB STe from Ultrasatan drive: red screen. The fix asks for 4MB so I guess I'm stuck.

BTW how much memory will the final version require? (I'm not using 4MB because long ago I had useful applications crashing with 4MB)

If game needs 2MB when running from floppy, it is normal that needs more when running from hard drive - and next step is 4 MB. So, it is not because that game''s memory requirement increased, but because hard disk support. And you get some extra goodies: game state save and easy restoring - so may continue later at that point. I recommend that expand STE to 4 MB RAM. For those bad APPs not liking 4MB there is proggie what sets it to act as 2MB machine.

Here is improved version, with better packer:
RTYPDSN.ZIP
Much faster depacking, and 15% shorter files.

Someone pls. write how to activate cheat and level skip.

Happy New Year :D

I tested it on Hatari and Steem and it works fine, thanks a lot for the HDD patch.

Note that with Hatari tha game crashes at 16Mhz but with Steem it runs fine at this speed, without slowdowns. Hopefully I will test it on my Mega STE@16Mhz soon !

However the game is really too hard, the collision masks are really too large. I can't get past the first part of the first stage whereas on the original game I usually go to stage 4 without any trouble :) hope it will be fixed.

Finally got this working after some other unrelated issues and have to say what a great job you've done with game, very impressed. The HD patched version seems to work flawlessly on my STE Tos 2.06

Would love to see more classics re-imagined like this
Atari Falcon Tos 4.04 | 14mb | IDE CF 2GB
Atari STE Tos 1.62 | 4mb | HxC Slim SD 8GB
Atari STE Tos 1.62/2.06 | 4mb | Floppy A-B Mod | IDE SD 4GB
Atari STFM
Atari Jaguar | Gamedrive
Android Devices (Running Hataroid and SToid)

Can't find the cheat code anywhere :?

I must say that have impression that bod/STAX does not like this forum/people much. After 10 days no word from him here, no reply on e-mail. We got release what works not on most of configurations, then some mentioning of cheat. Is it really so hard to write couple lines here and not keeping people in darkness ? Spending hundreds, maybe thousands of hours on SW. then not doing few simple things to make it easy to use ...

Maybe he's quietly making it better, another nice surprise like this is fine by me.

Yeah people have some other commitments too like kids, work, a wife/girlfriend, more work etc... In that timescale 10 days or even a month is a very short time. Let's wait a bit more :)

Thanks for the reply. I probably missed some readme somewhere as I didn't know 2MB were required ;)

About the lack of replies - maybe because in late December most people spend some time with their family?

Ok, just tested on my Mega STE :) the patched version worked fine from UltraSatan, just as expected (I don't have a CosmoEx). I didn't know about the F1 menu and cheats so I couldn't reach the end of stage 1. Real autofire also helps 8)

I must say this version is amazing, far better than the original port...

I wanted to try @16Mhz since as I said the game works at this speed on Steem (but not on Hatari). So I copied the files of the original version to two (real) floppy disks and tried to run it from there (HDD unplugged). At 16Mhz+cache, the game crashes just after the STNICCC PREVIEW message. At 16Mhz with no cache, the intro works, but I couldn't go further since the loading always fails on the ACCESSING DISK message (red screen). It's the same at 8Mhz. So I guess I don't put the right files on the so-called "program" disk. Unless someone knows how to install the game on floppy disks or I plug my HxC floppy emulator into the MSTe, I'm stuck :?

The cheatcode is SO F.U.C.K.I.N.G WHAT (remove dots from F-word as forum filter changes the word to something else)

if you did it right screen gives a quick red flash. Now you have invicibility and ability to select level before start.

Have only just seen this! Wonderful. My mouth is watering at the thought of more STE enhanced versions of games we love.

Thank you.

Sorry for a bit reflotating,

The HD version works well on ACSI2STM, but really the overall framerate is slow on a standard 8 MHz STE, probably a MegaSTE is more suitable for this game.

Machine is STE TOS 1.06 with 4 MB RAM

Not getting past the STNICCC PREVIEW bit on Steem, and it runs on Hatari but is very slow at points. Is this the final version, or is there a newer one? Can anyone suggest how to get Steem loading and how to speed the game up? Thank you :-)

Running (or trying to) on Steem with 4mb megaste and tos206us
