Enable deleting of posts

Post by danboid »

I dunno about anyone else but I quite frequently mess up my posts by doing stupid stuff like clicking the quote button when I meant to edit one of my posts and then I have an extra, unwanted post which only makes the thread messy and makes me look more stupid than I am already.

Just as frequently I'll post a question and then I'll answer my own question shortly after making the post so again, I want to be able to delete the unnecessary post.

I use some other forums powered by phpBB and so I know it has a "Delete post" feature. To assist the goal we should all share of having a tidy and easy to read forum, please enable all users to delete their own posts if required. Everyone makes mistakes!

Thanks

Oh look what feature I've just spotted!

It seems I CAN delete posts in this sub forum but not in the FreeMiNT support sub-forum so I'd like to revise my request to enabling the delete post feature for all sub forums please.

EDIT

It seems you can only delete posts in a very short time window after posting, in select sub-forums? There should be no time limit. I should be able to delete any of my posts whenever I'm logged in.

Unlimited deleting was disabled because some users rage-deleted all their posts and messed up lots of threads.

Thats a shame!

As with all things, there's always a few who ruin things for everyone else. Oh well!
