It was the first game that I ever downloaded, way back in 1993 on GEnie. There are a few completely different games called Warzone on the ST, versions, but this one is an artillery game. To make matters even more complicated, mine didn't even have a title screen, and was free (not partially playable). From what I remember (bear in mind it's been 20 years), the graphics were simpler. The pic attached looks a tad fancier, but hey, I'll take it if anyone has it.
Here are the facts:
1) It was downloaded by me in May of 1993 from GEnie. I had the service for just a few short months (February to May) in 1993, so the date is correct. I still have the file, but unfortunately it's it's corrupted (if it worked, there would be no point in the thread lol). For the hell of it, I attached it anyway.
2) It was an artillery game between two tanks. Small and not the best graphics, with no fancy title.
3) it was free and not from any company.
4) It's not even listed on Atari Mania.
Anyway, here's what I found of the Warzone that resembles mine (perhaps it was an updated version?:
Here it's listed with a download link, but the games in the link are of the wrong Warzone, despite the pics being shown of the tank game:

Found a download link with the game in it. Unfortunately, you have to access a menu to get it to work, and it's the crummy crippled version:

Finally, I found two videos. Again, it's not the version that I had, but it's something:

Please be advised that access to Atari Forum this coming Friday will be sporadic whilst the backend operating system and dependency upgrades are carried out.

On AtariLegend it is linked to 5 menus / compilation disks, so if it is about playing it it should be possible by downloading and running the menus. But of course this is not the original version, but a cracked or packed one.

Re: Warzone (1993 Atari ST)
There's was a mistake on Atari Legend. Most of the menus disks didn't point to the right game.
It's corrected now. Thanks for your post.
The game (demo version) is available on Serenade menu #27:

Re: Warzone (1993 Atari ST)
Cool, that was the one that I downloaded. Hopefully, my search will one day lead me to the version that I grew up with. I have some really old backups, I will have to find them and see.Brume wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:56 pm There's was a mistake on Atari Legend. Most of the menus disks didn't point to the right game.
