Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

I've just noticed the PP disks are up on Stonish now. But not the Krappy Compact? Unless I missed it. Didn't know about that unnumbered (PP_A) disk before too.

A quick announcement to let you know Stonish website will be closed in a few weeks.

But the project isn't dead: the site is now a part of Atari Legend. This was our dream for many years (one website only).
LynXX did a wonderful job on it, I hope you'll like it.

So starting today, all 'new' menus will be added on Atari Legend now. Stonish will disappear in 2-3 months.

Of course this topic will stay open, I'll just rename it.

OK, if that's your wish. Stonish is well preserved on the Internet Archive after all. I hate website monopolisation but I agree, the transfer is good. I think the only things missing are the size of the disk and when it was originally uploaded. There's enough room there to add that extra information if LynXX fancies it.

Actually, another gripe. You can't see more than 10 disks at once (in this day and age?!) with no option to change that.
AtariLegend really needs a way to change the colour from that turquoise too... A CSS palette swap, if such a thing is possible? All mouth and no input, me.

Certainly. I can tell you what I did at least. I personally use Pera Putnik's software to make disk images. Of course you'll need an old computer that still has a floppy drive. I expect there are far quicker methods using a direct connection from an ST to a PC or with an Ultra Satan or similar but I don't have those. I was about to say that I didn't know what "petari" is but it seems that Pera might have gone under this nickname at one point? I have a sneaking suspicion he's also sudest who replied in this very thread not too long ago. Pera has some 'history' here but I'd recognise that broken English and those high expectations anywhere... [That account is 15 years old now though so maybe I'm not so sure about that after all.]
As far as validating archives, that's the problem really. Pompey Pirates aside, It's more of a case of Brume having to painstakingly check each disk image for things that don't load correctly and other such errors. The man is doing the Atari gods' work.

Just a very old guy, st passionate (from 1987), but overloaded 40's aged father/husband/collaborator with 72h required activity per day loosing against physical reality where 24h are available
I wish I transfer my old disks onto msa, but I failed to find a working floppy disk ; I falled in trap of external USB floppy which are not working (tried 10 years ago, think about it just now by writing this msg).

Sorry for assuming. If you can find an old computer with a working internal floppy drive (and the time to do so!) it's a straightforward, if slow, task to make disk images.

Goodbye Stonish!
After 6 years of existence, this website is closing its doors. But it's not a real goodbye! If the decision to close this site was difficult to take, it is because it is worth it. Indeed, in recent weeks, all the menus available here have been integrated into... Atari Legend!
For those who didn't know, we co-founded Atari Legend almost 20 years ago with ST Graveyard and Silver Surfer, and then other friends joined the adventure soon after. My dream has always been to merge PaCigame (ex-Stonish site) with Atari Legend, but at the time, we didn't have the project completed.
Thanks to the great work ST Graveyard did on AL website a few years ago, and more recently to the complete overhaul by LynXX, the dream has come true!
Stonish has therefore been integrated to AL: you can therefore download more than 3600 menus there, and the database is growing day by day (thanks to Mug UK and Marcer for their great help). All of Stonish's menus are available for download, so absolutely nothing was lost during the transfer.
By this summer, Stonish will therefore completely disappear. I'll try to find a way to update the links coming from Demozoo and send them back to Atari Legend (I'm not sure how to automate the task, but we'll have to get started).
Thanks to all contributors who have supported me in recent years, the site has been a great adventure and I will not forget all the support that everyone gave me.

I had no idea you were behind PaCigame, Brume! Every now and then I get an itch to go hunting for it and PaCidemo too. I really do like your website design, the retro look especially; far more than AmigaLegend's (sorry guys!) I think of myself as an enthusiast but I really know next to nothing about you lot and this community if I'm honest. I feel so behind... Anyway, you're only as old- inexperienced as you feel, right?!

Another member of the community I wanted to ask about: I follow Retro Playthrus on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcS0-c ... MQ3r3Adi0Q) --sometimes I feel I'm his only viewer; poor chap really deserves more-- and I notice a lot of the menus he presents there aren't covered on AtariLegend (or Stonish) at all. Now, I realise there's a distinction between menus for demos and those for games but his latest video is a cracktro by Atari Force and they have what appear to be CD menus for games so why aren't they included on the sites? Secondly, are there plans to include a section for menus for demos or is that to be left to the Demozoo guys? Thanks.

the HALLOFFAME.DAT file was corrupted. I have simply injected the one that passed from another version of the file.

There's several more of those menu counts that are wrong.
eg
Impact lists 50 / 103 disks but there's 51 impact disk images in the list.

Lunartics says "Lunartics contains 4 menus and 4 disks. 1 disk missing or damaged (75.0% complete)." but there's no disks for download listed at all.

Gravatics lists 95 / 118 disks but there's only 14 disk images to download.

Fuzion lists 206 / 208 disks, but I count 207.

Floppy Copy Crew lists 20 / 23 disks, but I count 21.

Eone/Less Than Zero lists 22 / 42 disks, but I count 23.

Evil Force lists 78 / 139 disks, but I count 79.

when I open 3361.zip it contains XSTA09.MSA which is X-Static #09.

It should be pointing to 3661.zip, I think.

Mr Men #16 points to 1605.zip, and Mr Men 18 points to 1606.zip. Both contain the correct .msa contents, but both are called 'MRMEN18.MSA'. The one inside 1605.zip should be called MRMEN16.MSA ?

On The Evolution #9 disk, Midnight Resistance is broken. Corrupt graphics on most stages, for multiple enemies, and you never enter the shop at the end of the levels, to spend the keys.
