TOOGLE - issue with code

I also wrote on AtariAge, but I want to ask on this forum.

I have a question for people who own the box versions of this game. Well, I have had this version for a few months and I am still struggling with the problem of the correct codes for this game. I have a special secret envelope with codes for all levels as I write them down on a piece of paper after finishing a level. Then after restarting the game I try to use them, following exactly what is written in the manual:

I press F2 then enter the code from the numeric keypad and press Enter, unfortunately the code is reset to zero and does not take me to the level.
Am I doing something, wrong? Has anyone encountered something similar ?
Also, I checked it on F030 or on MST/STE

could it be a keyboard layout problem ? like, french people working on AZERTY keyboard ?

edit: didn't pay attention that it was using the numeric keypad.
