Absolutely spot on. Apart from anything else there is no real sense of achievement when you succeed.simonsunnyboy wrote:My own experience with Elite is that using a hacked game kills the fun.
But do as you wish ofcourse

Oh yes they do

My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).
I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Re: Elite Missions
I reached Elite on the Beeb but it only had 2 missions so I now have an Atari emulator (Hatari) and I was looking forward to 5 whole missions, but I'm now Dangerous with >200K pts and I haven't had a sniff of any mission.
Do they come later (after Elite ranking?) or could it be I accidentally turned down the first mission by poking the keyboard while docking and staring out of the window at the same time?
I've tried playing with the in-built hex hacker, so well described by GoldRunner above (thanks) to see if I can provoke a mission to start, but nuffin.
Any help much appreciated...

Re: Elite Missions
Oh my, what a nifty necrobump
I even forgot about that translated document...
It took ages for me as well, I probably was at Dangerous rating for a long time aswell.
Thus I recommend to stop using the escape pod and retros, keep blasting ships to increase your score and finally it should happen.
