Anyone interested in retro bitmap art needs to have a look at what some people have achieved on the ZX Spectrum, on http://zxart.ee
For all its primary colour palette, 2-colours-per-character-cell limitations, some of the screens done recently are properly impressive. Take a look at MAC's reinterpretations of loading screens, particularly scroll down for Athena, Phantis and a jaw-dropping one for Space Harrier.

ZX / C64 is great inspiration! I love ZX games. They reminds me A800XE/XL hires games 320x192x2...

BTW you can post anything into # showcase -> non Atari too but We prefer Atari A8 / ST & STE / F030 / consoles stuff...
