Gotek as external B drive

Post by naujoks »

I'm trying to use a Gotek as external B drive and soldered together a cable for this.
It's not working properly though. For starters, it doesn't boot off A: any more, in fact, double clicking on A: gives an error.
Funnily enough, one disk image on the Gotek works, but all the others show the disk as empty or files with garbled file names. I can't (also don't know hot to) boot into AUTOBOOT on the Gotek.
I double checked the connections, those should be fine, however, there's confusion what pin 5 & 6 on the Atari plug connect to on the Gotek side.
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

EDIT: I just found out that some disks in A: (physical drive) work somtimes.
If there's no disk in A: and I set the Gotek to AUTOBOOT, it does load the File Manager, but it stops with the error message "LBA Change Test Failed ! Write Issue ?"
