Videogames = Art = Postcards!

Post by matt »

No, not that debate.

Rather, great scenes from videogames to add to my a collection of postcard-sized prints...

To qualify:
- no gameplay HUD visible
- no dialogue visible
- minimal characters
- detailed background art a must
- pixels!
- preferably not JPG format

So far, I have:

Future Wars

Another World

Exile, after some editing to remove the game title.

Interestingly, all French!

Monkey Island is a tricky one - everything looks so... purple. There has to be a few from other adventure games, but also from some other games?

Search for screens at http://www.mobygames.com, though you will have to re-host them somewhere else as they don't allow external linking to their images.

Suggestions welcome!

There are many great title or in-game screenshoots which could fit as videoca... sorry, postcards :)

Probably all Psygnosis games. Barbarian was a good example. Agony is one of the greatest, but it wasn't available on Atari unfortunately :(

Loom's graphics are real Works of Art:

Blade Warrior had very artistic backgrounds (see attached file).

I attach also the picture of a game I like, with some pixels in the background. The game is not available on Atari but for PCs (you can get it here
http://www.spritewood.net/games.php?lang=en )

Back to Atari, there are nice artwork in Targhan: http://www.atarilegend.com/games/games_ ... me_id=2891
