Post by simonsunnyboy »

The game for March 2012 is WIngs Of Death. I think it does not need any explanations...

ehe.. i was just having my STE hooked up to my PC to test my capture card and Wings of Death was the game i tested most :) I might parcipitate in this STOT. And also record a video when i play so there is proof of no cheating

I have uploaded some capture card tests here:
http://arcade.ym2149.com/files/sc500n1/atari/

Do you guys cheat with autofire? I just got reminded badly of how the thumb hurts when playing WoD.

Great game though... amazing technical effort for the ST (and the sequel is even better).

None of my joysticks have autofire so i can't use it even if i wanted.
If anybody gets a better score than me and was using autofire i will consider it cheating

I have two scores from some young players who attended the MACE meeting last Sunday:
Matthew scored 37680
Atticus scored 5000 (although I can only find the ~2700 screenshot)

I will do my best to indoctrinate the young ones ;-)
I scored 118,000 last night, but messed up the screenshot (hit the wrong key and it went through to WOD on Steem and the game moved onto the next screen). I thought "never mind, I'll just get a higher score", but I'm a bit sick of playing it now and can't beat ~118,000. I'll try to in the next few days!

EDIT - I just got 102935, closer....

Got 116490 (no autofire, real ST)... let's hope i get some more time to be able to play it before the end of march.

That beam weapon is good for us without autofire :)

Agreed, it's what I use. It's annoying when you get it a second time and it turns autofire back off :( I'm using Steem and it's killing my fingers hitting CTRL like a lunatic. The beam weapon = relaxation ;-)

241555.. (no autofire, real ST, TAC-2 and a cup of tea).

First time i ever got to stage 3 and even reaches stage 4 but get totally slaughtered in the beginning... the beam weapon is useless in stage 4 (unless powered up alot i guess), dragon fire is probably the best weapon there.

Having not been on level 5 before.... only maybe once ages back with the cheat on, I didn't sadly last long!

A maxxxed up Circle blast can be useful... same with the Triangle!
