First score: 18900 World 1-3

The game seems not to feature a highscore table so I took a screenshot after restarting the game.

I liked this one back in the day. Will have a go on this game when I get back from the festival.

Changing the STOT entry for the forum too.

I'm dead against the boss in the second world.
There are 7 levels per world and you face a big boss every time in the 7th.
If you kill him, you gain many points and bonuses.

Improvement to 44800, yet no chance to beat 1-5 :(

Does anyone know what the powerup does? I got it but nothing happens. Also, I spelled all the words of "bonus" and nothing happens. I wonder if it's the Pompe Pirates cracked version I have? There is a megatrainer (which I don't use obviously) and I wonder if Alien broke something when he hacked it

@ Ragstaff: The Bonus chars will gain you some Bonus when you pass an end boss. What the powerup is good for I don't know yet.

Firstly, current score is 81800

Here are some tips, hopefully not too late to be of use to people.

1. Bonus points if you
  • kill every enemy
  • collect every visible item in a level
  • Complete these objectives around 10 seconds before the "HURRY" warning is splashed on screen. The quicker you do the level, the more points the bonus items are worth
  • Do not die in the level before you have killed all enemies and collected all items
You don't have to collect all secret items, but they seem to help increase the bonus

2. Strategy
  • In the shop, just buy the cheapest weapon (the 3 swords). This leaves you enough money left over to buy it again if you die, and the 3 swords are also a very good weapon. They aren't quite as powerful as more expensive weapons but the spread they give is good for fighitng enemies and discovering secrets
  • The Potion powerup increases the damage that your weapons do

3. Extra life in world 1-3
PP_111_008.png
4. The coloured stars in world 1-5
I'm not sure what other combinations there are, but the two I have found are as follows:

Three red stars drop cash
PP_111_011.png
From the top star, going clockwise, purple, brown, and green release a "spring" powerup
PP_111_012.png
The spring allows you to jump higher and collect the extra life as described next.

5. Extra life in world 1-5
If you get the spring powerup, you can jump up here and collect an extra life that becomes visible when you shoot the wall.
PP_111_013.png
6. World 1-6 tip
It's very risky to enter the shop if you don't still have the spring ability. However, you will find a good weapon very useful for the world 1-7 boss

Concratulation Xerus.

Great that you are back Ragstaff, thanks for your little tutorial. I also thought that the stars have a special meaning, but had no time to find out.

Final Score:

2) Ragstaff
