Scanning Contribution Guidelines

Post by Goldrunner »

I have had quite a few contributions recently and thought it might be a good idea to lay out some guidelines for scanning game material for GamebaseST. First of all I would like to say that I am not concerned about the size of scans as long as the following simple guidelines are adhered to:

Games Material
Adverts (no lower than 800 pixels width)
Boxscans (no lower than 640 pixels width)
Diskscans (no lower than 500 pixels width)

Game Documentation (manuals, novellas, etc)
The higher the better here for possible conversion to PDF and/or putting through OCR software.

Other Game Material (badges, flyers, etc, ect)
Again the higher the better since they will probably be converted and resized for use with the project!

If in doubt scan everything and anything to 200 DPI which is about right for everything.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to GamebaseST so far, your efforts are being credited within GamebaseST and you are helping to preserve this great machine for everyone to enjoy!
