Thanks for this next release!

But I try to run it this morning I have an issue on Windows 10 fr - x64 with System.Windows.Markup.XamlParseException.

Dave, maybe you should create a thread on AF especially with fixed configurations issues.

Thanks in advance for your feedback :)

Hi Zorro 2. Sorry to see you’re having problems. I’ll take a proper look tonight but in the meantime could you help:

* Is this the first time you’ve run DBST?
* Have you recently changed your Windows localisation setting from (for example) English to French?
* Could you go into your My Documents folder, DemoBaseST, and if there’s a file in there, rename it to something else then restart DBST.

Hi Zorro 2. I've managed to recreate your error by changing my Region advanced settings so that the full stop symbol is neither a number group nor a decimal divider. For example, in the UK it'd look like this: 1,234.56 In other parts of Europe it may look like this: 1.234,56 but if you do not have a . as either of those two options (e.g.: 1'234,56 or 1,234'56 ) then the error occurs.

Is this how your version of Windows is set up?

To change the regional setting on my machine, I pressed Windows key, typed "Region", clicked "Additional settings..." then changed the Decimal symbol and Digit grouping symbol, then clicked Apply.

If this is how your machine is set up, would you mind testing it by changing the settings above so that the . is either a decimal symbol or a group symbol, then Apply and try running DBST? If you can confirm all of this, then I can put a fix in to cater for non-dotted number formats.

Thanks,
Dave.

Hello,

I have the same error.
It runned fine when I launched DemobaseST for the first time, when it's always crashing at launch.
I'm from France.
I'll very happy if you found a patch, as I really enjoyed this great DemobaseST !
Thanks

Hi Dungeon Master. Same question to you as Zorro 2, how does your version of Windows display a large number with decimal? For example in the UK mine looks like this: 1,234.56 with comma and dot. Does yours look different?

Thanks I think it does. Would you be able to put a . in your symbole décimal instead of comma, click Appliquer and try running DBST.

Excellent! I can make a patch for the issue. I think when you revert back to your original settings it may stop working again, but you can temporarily do the . thing before you start DBST again until I fix it.

Excellent! I can do a new version later this week which won’t be affected by regional settings.

Hi Zorro 2 and Dungeon Master!
Could you try running the Recovery.exe file. Hopefully it'll download and fix the issue.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi Dave!

The recovery file doesn't access to a specific DLL

🙁

Could you try downloading the recovery program from the link here: https://www.demobase.st/help/recovery103.html

Copy the files into the root of your DemoBaseST folder (overwrite everything including the existing Recovery.exe) and run Recovery.exe

It’ll hopefully re-synchronise that folder with the current version.

Hi Dungeon, did you download the recovery program from the link above?

If so, it sounds like you may need to redownload DBST from the main site. The installer there is the very latest version with the region settings fix. You wont lose any favourites or preferences as they are saved in your My Documents folder.

Sorry about the inconvenience. It’s a little annoying as (apart from one occasion) I always test every release on two separate machines before going live.

That's ok Dungeon, do you mean DBST crashes the second time you run it, but it's ok the first time? That's unusual. Could you go into your /My Documents/DemobaseST folder and attach or DM me the user.sqlite file. It just has your favourites, jukebox and preferences, but I'd like to see one of the records in there.
Also in your Region settings which you looked at earlier, does your decimal symbol have more than one character?

I was able to recreate a crash by setting my Regional decimal symbol to an apostrophe, and adjusting the STeem volume slider in the Preferences window.

I've put in a fix for this and rebuilt and uploaded the installer, so a full download again should fix it.

DM - if you still have the crash log (errorlog.txt) that'd be useful.

Thanks for the effort !

thanks, but hmm it says the file is unknown format or damaged.
Perhaps just try downloading the latest version (it will be 1.122) from here: https://www.demobase.st/package/DBST_Install.exe .
