[Video] Recapping a Falcon PSU

Post by Badwolf »

I'm hoping to to put together some hardware videos attempting to restore a Falcon motherboard over the next few months.

As a trial for the techniques, I've made a video documenting replacing the aged electrolytic capacitors on my original Falcon's PSU. Let me know if the camera and audio is good enough. I'm pretty sure I'll drop the second camera as its quality isn't acceptable.

Anyway, I hope this will be of use to anyone who's not confident of working with a soldering iron or mains voltages.

Cheers,

BW.

Nice one, somehow I only just tripped over this. Like you, I've never had any issues with mine per se, but I do wonder about it and I've been considering one of those kits. Comfortable soldering etc. but always nice to see somebody doing it first!

Thanks! That reminds me, I still need to put in the proper cap and run a few more tests.
