John Mcloud's software (JML-snap, McBoot etc)

Post by Fujiyama »

Does anyone know what happened to John Mcloud's software?
I read somewhere that there was a public key for JML-snap, and here that there's a free key for the McBoot boot-selector. Apart from this I can't find any info. His website is apparently no longer around.
All I could find was this Transaction page with info about his software.

Anyone know more?

Excellent!
Did the author himself release some info on his software becoming freeware?

Were they released by the author somewhere?

Yes, on his webpage. You can check it out on the wayback machine https://web.archive.org/web/20150801214 ... online.de/, but the keys links ("Freier Schlüssel") under the software section don't seem to work.

Cool!
Good thing you got hold of the freeware keys before they were gone!
Thanks again :)

Can someone who has the tools, merge them with keys as text files and put them into the "abandoned software" thread?

My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk
