MOUNTAIN a multitrack video creator with transitions

Post by Moulinaie »

Hello,

Remi Vanel has produced this cool piece of software some years ago, a multitrack video maker with effects:

snap0.gif

It appears to be free now, so you can download it and test it.
I worked with Remi to interface MOUNTAIN and M_PLAYER. His soft is able to call M_PLAYER to create an animation in MOV or AVI format.
Or you can use it alone and it will produce Autodesk FLH animations. (please download the last M_PLAYER 4.10 as I just found a bug in the interface!)

Here it is :

Hi,

to try it, you can find some FLI-FLC-FLH animations to import in MOUNTAIN on my page
(in the download section):
https://gtello.pagesperso-orange.fr/mplayere.htm

If I remember well, the LONG flag in the header of MOUNTAIN should be turned from $00000007 to $00000017 to share its memory with M_PLAYER when you use a multitasking system.

Mountain looks really good. I've also not heard of it!
Good work getting it released as free. Shout if Remi needs translation help (for the English version)

Rimi and Mountain have been around for a very very long time. I remember first rev, using it with Expose files :)

If I remember right Mountain was developed as video editor for the Milan II computer as target. I was using it with my Milan but it was very unstable back then.

I played with Mountain a bit when I first got my Milan around 2000.

I also played with Funmedia.

I used one of them to capture one of my diving videos, just 10 seconds. It was on my website, might still be there.

Hi Moulinaie,

I saw that Mountain doesn't handle audio natively but the link from Mountain to M_Player will allow an audio file to be added.
I see there is more in the Mountain (French) manual on page 11.
Say there is a 20 second video file and the audio is 22 seconds, will it just add the first 20 seconds or does it make the video 22 seconds long?
M_Player will produce either a MOV or AVI file?

I've just tested YouTube and it will allow uploads of Moutain's FLH files too :D

I've used Hitfilm Express (Windows) quite a bit to create videos with some effects so would be nice to test Mountain.

If MOUNTAIN let M_PLAYER do the job, then the AUDIO file is the base for the timing.
I mean that if you were working on a 20 seconds video and add a 22 seconds soud, then the video will last 22 seconds and every frame will last a little bit longer than you expected at first.
