Atari software using dongles

Post by qq1975b »

Is there any other software besides Cubase, Notator and Creator? I have a dongle with no case amd I would like to know for which software it is for.

Thank you.

There are many other sequencers as well as a bunch of editors that required a dongle.

The trick is to not put it in backward when you go to test it.

In order to figure out what it is you want to try and eliminate what it isn't by doing an image search to start with.

I have also an unidentified dongle. Was about to ask you guys some time.
Not even sure if it came with an ST or Falcon.

This one looks like a dongle for Soundpool software: http://atari.soundpool.de/

Oh yeah, only just realized dbsys drew the same conclusion. I seem to recall seeing that kind of sticker on a Zero X dongle.

Synthworks M1 also required a dongle.

I have the Soundpool Audio Master software that has such a dongle. With a different number on the sticker, of course.

Neon 3D (Falcon software) was another one, IIRC.

Looks like Cubase 1 or 2, you could try downloading the original disks(not cracked version), or maybe someone could post them.

all the early synthworks required dongles
iconix serquencer required dongle
notator alpha creator logic require dongles
many many others made use of dongles...
maybe its a x7000 synthworks or a s-900 akai synthwork dongle
those were popular

My Neon 3D uses a "dongle" that goes into the LAN Port.

Mine too. Out of curiosity. Mine has a case made of a fluorescent lamp "starter" filled with epoxy. I don't dare to crack it open to see what's inside. What is yours looking like?

Hi ragnar76, if I recall correctly, the dongle to my Neon3D software simply contains a short between two pins of the "LAN" connector.

I kind of expected this because the lan port is just another type of rs232 connection

Thank you all. I will try first the ones you said related to a Soundpool. If I remember well the Falcon that had this was the one with the Soundpool.
