It look like it is easyer to send me the changes or attach it here.
Attached is the ENGLISH.INC file. I had to change the extension to allow me to attach it.

Can somebody advise me how to start TEXEL with this configuration ?
I must test it. If present, can you delete or rename all "texel.xxx" in home or home/default. English or german version?
PeterS wrote:There seems to be a problem with date formats. When I open a s/s with a date column it shows the month like this .04.
I created a new s/s and it is the same.
Interesting, it is only in the english version. If you open the file with the german one you see the corret date.

Thanks! On Github is a version where nearly all text in english. Only the intern printer dialog is at the moment in german.

My guess is that there is an issue in either the date formats or the handling of the date formats.

e.g.
German [TT].[MM].[JJJJ] is good
English [DD].[MM].[YYYY] is bad

In attachment I added a picture with a representation of the error.
I used the latest English version of Texel I've found here.

Kind regards,
Mark

In txmain it does comparisons against literal values e.g. 'TT'.

Should these be defined dependent in the language ? :

Code: Select all

				if dummy='T' then
					begin
						vtxt:=vtxt+ltoa(Num2Day(fval));
						exit
					end;
				if dummy='TT' then
					begin
						n:=Num2Day(fval);
						if n<10 then vtxt:=vtxt+'0';
						vtxt:=vtxt+ltoa(n);
						exit
					end;
				if dummy='TTT' then
					begin
						vtxt:=vtxt+TexelApp.Tage2[Weekday(fval,3)];
						exit
					end;
				if dummy='TTTT' then
					begin
						vtxt:=vtxt+TexelApp.Tage[Weekday(fval,3)];
						exit
					end;
I just looked in my old Texel 1.6 and 2.0 installations and the texel_e.frm file has dates defined in German format not English. So that will be why it works.

Were they official versions? Or have someone translate the RSC?

It is maybe not allowed to change the texel.frm.

If you at this [DD].[MM].[YYYY] to the texelusr.frm than it works.

Official versions but I am not sure about the translation files.

I will try the 2.0 (German) .frm file in the 2.3 release and see how it behaves.

I copied texel.frm from 2.0 and renamed it to texel_e.frm

Dates are shown correctly in existing and new s/s.

It would be nice to be able to use English definitions in .frm

That would probably mean adding language definitions for day (T or D), month ( M or M) and year (J or Y) and use those in TXmain instead of the literals.

I test it now on my Milan with MagiC and NVDI. I use the latest version. It starts without any problems. Have you ever used a other Texel version on your Milan?

Yes,
I got somewhere the special version for the Milan.
I was never able to use texel on the Milan.
Works perfectly on my TT and Falcon. All with OS Magic.

Kind regards,

Is the 2.30.1 English version that gstoll provided the latest or were there more changes made for the English version?

I didn't see any binaries on github. Could someone post the latest version here if there's a newer one?

I generally have a lot of trouble with ST-Guide, but before I assume I've done something wrong, has anyone had success in using ST-Guide with the .hyp file on the English version of Texel? I get 3 bombs....once I try to open up the index or contents, first page comes up fine...

When I try to use the date format, I only get the month.

The format is set to : [DD].[MM].[YY] and when I enter "09.02.21" I get "/02/" as output.

Is there there anywhere 2.0 can be found online? I've been unable to find it? Alternatively can the texel.frm from 2.0 be posted here?

Thanks,

I've tried that one, its from 2.2 and I have the same issue, according to the gentleman above you need the file from 2.0.

Sounds good. I only have disks of version 2.2 and 1.6. Not sure if 1.6 would work.

Here's the texel.frm from 1.6 if you want to try it.

TEXEL.FRM.zip

That did fix the date issue, it did also however flip the dialog box for number formats to German. Lol. Maybe between this file and the 2.2 one I can make up a good one...

You must use the german shortcut [TT].[MM].[JJ]
