Amazing! Thanks! For reference I also found it hidden inside the STTrans zip of this site here (had ended up firing up my Aranym setup in the hope of running STTrans at both ends, and when I decompressed the archive it also had PCTrans in there!): http://atw800.complicated.net/downloads.html

Hi,

I wonder if it were also possible to connect Atari using Kermit protocol. A Kermit client is found on original Atari SDK, that would also require runing Kermit Server on the PC to connect to.

This set up would ressemble how CP/M port to 68K and GEM was developed by Digital Research, I can almost imagine Atari connected to DEC/VAX machines, using Kermit, at those days of development.

Kermit is multiplaform (UNIX / Windows / MAC ...) as that was the original idea behind to share data across various diverse systems.

That would also explain presence of VT52 terminal emulator on Atari `Language Disk', VT52 predates VT100,VT220 as DEC's terminal standard.

ATARI was cheaper to get than a standard h/w DEC Terminal.

parcp seems to be open source now (GPL3). The source can be found here: https://github.com/joysfera/parcp. Docs inside the binary archive don't mention anything about open sourcing or GPL3 but source repository contains GPL3 license. It might be open sourced very recently so author haven't changed the docs yet.

The latest binary archive contains the binaries for dos, Linux (Ubuntu i386, amd64), windows and OS X. Version 4.10 also contains the binaries for RPi Linux (Raspbian). Both available from the parent site: https://joy.sophics.cz/parcp/download.htm.

Haven't tested it yet, but it sounds interesting. I like the NC like interface.

I'm 100% sure I did transfer files using Kermit, probably at the time with a Windows 3.1 PC.
