Re: Aranym with Bitstream and TT-Font's

Yes, with wongcks PHPDF driver: https://sites.google.com/site/probehouse/home For that to work you'll need your current combination of fVDI & NVDI (fVDI does not support printers yet). Also keep in mind that it is NVDI that renders the fonts, then sends them as bitmap to the driver, so you won't hav...

Re: Aranym with Bitstream and TT-Font's

NVDI should be able to use most *.ttf files publicitly available, so you can take some free fonts, or even copy them from linux/windows if you want to. Only problem is the filename limit, if your font folder is on a FAT partition, so you may have to rename them. SpeedoGDOS can only handle Bitstream ...

Re: WEB PAGE: Apollo Vampire V4+ running EmuTOS

"C" language, tons of files, makefiles, various folders.... This is far from my way of coding. Thats' possible :) But that's not the point. Not making the (modified) sources is not only counter-productive (there aren't that many developers left for Atari at all), but also a violation of the GPL. Es...

Re: WEB PAGE: Apollo Vampire V4+ running EmuTOS

I think a better solution would be to write a resident program that does the job, and provides the XBIOS functions (similar to ZMAGXSND). That way, almost every program could benefit from the sound system, without any changes. Apart from that, i can only also ask to release the source of the modific...

Re: Game code addressing memory at 0xe00802

Having looked into this further, it appears that the game is quite reliant on whatever is going in the standard TOS VBL routine - much more so than just reading the value at $468. That even more sounds like a bad idea to nuke the VBL handler. However, the only way I can think of to replace it is to...

Re: Game code addressing memory at 0xe00802

BTW are you sure that the game modifies the VBL interrupt vector at all? It is already setup by TOS, and thus will already point to somewhere in the ROM (depending on TOS version), even before the game was started. Maybe there is no need to mess with the VBL at all.

Re: Game code addressing memory at 0xe00802

That brings about an interesting point - what would happen if you pointed 0x70 to your own handler that just contains an RTE? Would that be considered a bad thing to do? Because that's the first thing I plan to do when I start replacing the VBL handler in this game :) Yes, that would be considered ...

Re: Undocumented ST-Guide features in hyp2gdos.hyp

I also worked on UDO quite a lot in the past, and i'm quite sure that there is no such command ;) For other formats that would be (!T), but this is not handled for ST-Guide output. Of course that doesn't stop you from inserting some ST-Guide command using the (!raw []) syntax. What i've also thought...

AmigaGuide does not use the binary format (atleast not that i'm aware of). It just takes the text files (with slightly different commands in some cases).

Re: Undocumented ST-Guide features in hyp2gdos.hyp

Very long time ago I made a hyp decompiler. Indeed it stops and says unknown value 164. First I've seen that. No idea what to translate it to. I did notice in the hyp there's a node about UDO. Odds are it was compiled with that. Maybe the UDO docs provide a clue? UDO only generates the *.stg source...

Undocumented ST-Guide features in hyp2gdos.hyp

I already stumbled upon this when working on the hcp compiler, but now took a closer look: in hyp2gdos.hyp there are some undocumented ESC-sequences used. You normally won't see them, since both ST-Guide and HypView simply ignore them, but you can make them visible by using a debug option i added to...

No, Hatari currently does not implement the interface.

Just use fVDI, and you don't need any enhancer. in FVDI.INF, you can select whatever resolution your host is cabable to display, including truecolor.

If you've got the time, maybe you can also try the version from freemint snapshots. You'll find gluestik in /mint/1-19-cur/sys-root/opt/GEM/gluestik

Hm, you are right. With TOS 4, the drive appears, but is empty. With EmuTOS it works however. Wonder what is going wrong there... the code in the gemdos does not give any hint.

Re: Hatari EasyMint, HDD images for download

To be honest, i never tried it, but from what i can see, there is no such restriction on the number of sector/cluster to be exactly 2. All code uses the clsiz/clsizb members of the BPB structure, just like EmuTOS. Only difference to EmuTOS is, that in a few places, signed values are used (at least i...

Re: Hatari EasyMint, HDD images for download

Instead of using such large sector sizes, you could also use more sectors/cluster. I think this is normally done by MSDOS. Of course, no matter how you do it, you end up with cluster sizes of 32K, which will waste a lot of storage. Submitting a patch to mtools might be possible, but i doubt the linu...

Re: Hatari EasyMint, HDD images for download

Hatari would still need to catch MiNT redirecting GEMDOS entry & re-install it. It would be much cleaner if Hatari would implement the HOSTFS native feature instead. The hostfs.xfs can also be loaded separately (but obviously then you have to boot from an harddisk image, not from a GEMDOS folder).

Re: Hatari EasyMint, HDD images for download

Hm, but the ext2fs.xfs is active in c:/mint/1-19-cur, so i can't see a reason why it should not be usable? BTW, the sector size of the C: partition is 8192, which makes it impossible to mount it on linux (for whatever reason the linux fs limits it to 4096). The sector size of the other partitions is...
