amongst others, it states:

Code: Select all

IKBD keyboard, mouse and joystick driver:
207    Available if _MCH cookie is ST, Mega ST, STE, Mega STE, TT or Falcon.

That might be the problem when running dosbox on firebee, or aranym, Key releases can only be handled by the ikbd driver. But _MCH is not one of the values above (is that set at all on Firebee?). Aranym sets the _MCH cookie to 0x50000 by default, but you can override it in the config file. Maybe setting it to 0x30000 (to indicate a Falcon), and forcing the use of the IKBD driver by setting the environment variable, will help.

I compiled it long ago, and I was even able to run a few very old MS-DOS games (I can't remember which ones... Maybe Pac-Man or something like that).
DOSBox for MiNT

BUT
  • It is extremely slow, even on ARAnyM-JIT
  • There is still the keyboard bug. Only a few keys work. I was too lazy to investigate that (in SDL?), but if someone has a look, I'm pretty sure it could be improved.

To fix the incorrect keyboard mapping with this version of Dosbox, simply change "usescancodes=true" to "false" in dosbox-0.74.conf. It does the trick, at least on Falcon.

This is great!
I will have to test it. If it works on the FireBee it will be very usefull for me :)
Thanks!!!

You're welcome. Unfortunately changing the other Dosbox settings don't seem to make things faster. There is some kind of bottleneck somewhere I guess.

Yes I tried it and now keyboard is working perfectly.
But as you say ... it is really slow. I believe it could be oprtimised greatly ...
