alienkidmj12 wrote:oh dear, what makes it worse is that they know about it, ive had this thing a year and not been able to use yetdo you think the problem could be causing the crashes, well...the mouse pointer just hangs
vido wrote:Well, my experience is just the other way.
I use Atari keyboard with my FireBee and I never had any problem with it. With USB keyboard I had key stuck problem so stoped using it.
But as I know with latest firmware/FireTOS release also that problem is solved.
But I think there is a problem with Eiffel.
Anyway ... there should be no problem with Atari keyboards at all!
Galvez wrote:This is interesting, which version of FireTOS do you have?
You said that you changed the keyboard by an Atari one, and the mouse? Did you change too or you're still using an USB mouse?
When I talk about this issue I mean Atari keyboard and mouse connected to the Atari keyboard.
I don't think it is a problem with Eiffel, I don't use it, and I saw the same behavior some years ago in another FireBee using a TT keyboard.

I am using Atari MSTE/TT keyboard and USB wireless mouse.
It is true that I used Atari mouse connected to Atari keboard just to check if it works. It worked but never really used it.

Galvez wrote:In the meantime you could try to test the combination: keyboard through Eiffel plus USB mouse, maybe it's the workaround solution to get rid of your key stuck effect problem.

I believe the only way to get rid of this problem is to upgrade firmware tothe latest available on the firebee.org web page.
vido wrote:But you have to be very careful when you flash the new firmware!!!
Read the instructions you got together with the official Free MiNT setup on your flash card. I guess they are in the "flasher" direectory?
If somethig goes wrong when you flash the firmware you will end with the nonworking FireBee and will require to reflash it using BDM cable and PC computer.
Galvez wrote:I wouldn't try to flash by software in such unstable system without a BDM cable.
alienkidmj12 wrote:im using a 24v fsp group psu, i changed the caps in it, i know it works

And it should be a 12V PSU, not 24V.
jfl wrote:My TT keyboard and PeST-connected mouse work fine. Boot v2.02. Sometimes I get that annoying key repeat but it can be cured by hitting any key so not a big issue, really.
