Ayumi: a new emulator of AY-3-8910 and YM2149 chips

Postby true-grue » Thu Dec 26, 2013 7:50 am

Hello to all!

I made a highly precise (I hope!) emulator of AY-3-8910 and YM2149 sound chips with an audio renderer to wav. It understands YM format (but you may need to unpack a file with LHA tool). No ATARI ST specific effects (I'm from ZX Spectrum land) yet.

Hope someone here will find it interesting: http://sovietov.com/app/ayumi/ayumi.html

it sounds nice, but it can't load compressed YM files (most of them are compressed in LHa, now I see the author told about this in the first post). Just out of curiosity, what is this .fym format? (It seems to be compressed)

I wonder : is it close from what is used into emulators (Hatari, Steem...) ?

I have used this one https://github.com/floooh/headeronly-pe ... /ay38910.h but it renders a bit differently from ST emulators, in particular about dephasing between enveloppe and squares from what I have noticed.
