Remember that the Speccy 128 had nearly the same sound chip as
the ST...

Yo,

sadly I haven't converted it into SND, from ZX Spectrum. However it's possible (partly - manually but still).
Maybe I'll think about it having some free time.

PS: I'm glad You like the stuff.

Sadly I have never made an SHD file from this one original ZX Spectrum song. :(
I could do that (I made it several times with other songs) but it's kinda tricky and requires several progs and also some amount of 'manual' work.
Maybe I will do it in some free time. :)

PS: Converting tunes is another interesting matter. Last times I made a comparison.

Argh, noted.
Sorry.
I thought it was only new "new" members ;) , and not for old "new" members. ;) A pity there is no "delete post" button, I would remove the double post.
Sorry once again.

Nize tune Yez. The buzz effect doesn't quite sound as good on the conversion though :-)

Yes, I agree - the hardware buzz came in different way, however it's not actually "converted".
I simply put the songs on ST. YM has slightly different characteristix and also it works faster due to entire ST hardware.
The only thing I do - is to check out if the song sounds OK.
If so - then I leave it as it is.
However mostly there are differences. Buzz sounds louder than on AY, leads are more silent, somehow snares are more silent too, so I make "manual" corrections and convert it again. :)
Some things are impossible to fix - like hardware stuff (what You have mentioned).
But it's not YM's fault actually - many Spectrums have YM instead of AY (I have one 2 YM interfaces by myself) and with Spectrum hardware they sound "more like AY", without these discrepancies.
Interesting. :)
