Found some old pictures :-)

Postby Videl » Wed Dec 11, 2019 6:01 pm

Little history (from what I can remember), I was part of an Amiga/ST group for a short time around 1990-93 ish time frame. I was messing around with DevPac and trying to get some 68000 routines working and made a few PD compacts called "Interstellar" which I swapped for the latest ST and Amiga Demos with Wizard PD (UK), can't remember his name, nice chap. Anyway, I'm setting up an ST in my office and was going through a bunch of disks to see if they have survived nearly 30 years of storage! And yes, surprisingly, the majority seem fine. I'm not sure if I posted these here before (I might have), but this might be the last surviving floppy with my old work on it, so here it is, in no particular order:

Oh, the piccy "Japfnt" was something I ripped from an ST demo using a cart called Ultimate Ripper? Can't remember what the demo was, but loved the font!

Looks like the font from the "Match-It" game screen in the Syntax Terror demo.

That's the one! I loved that game (and the music). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6Pt7SLiPzw

One of my favorites on the ST too, but I like the music from the demo-version better.

Had my speakers off! Yes, that is the proper version with the nice music in the Syntax Terror demo - the Budgie UK version (Lost Boys?) isn't as "authentic" but it is still Big Alec good :-)

Funny, the (french) ST Magazine had put "Match It" on one of his cover disks, and it was actually a standalone edition of the demo version, as it has the Chambers of Shaolin Mad Max music.

heh, we 'borrowed' that font for our 24hour screen for that party, I wonder if Ripped Off ripped it from our entry or just though it was a good font and used it for the demo compil :)

My first ever demo party :) Followed up by the "In the Middle Of Nowhere" one at Pele's place in Wales.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

I made that intro. I have literally no idea where the font came from, maybe Stick sent me a disk of fonts or something...

Oh, found another one done in Degas Elite, here it is converted to GIF (from a Gary Larson cartoon IIRC)...

Even more amazing, I was not aware you did that intro :)
I always really liked the Pete demo, it was so fresh and unusual compared to many other megademos.

You've got to do a Larson at some stage, right! I'm going to fire up Degas this weekend (or NeoChrome Master!) and do something nostalgic...

The font (Japfnt) is from Chambers of Shaolin as well (the nice intro with distorting credit pages).

Glassfnt is from the game Monster Business.
