Thanks for the link, but I already bought https://www.waveshare.com/product/modul ... h-case.htm
A bit bulky and lower resolution, but similar power consumption (3 W) and a headphone jack.

How did you manage to get a 12v fan to work on this board?

I also use a 12V fan from an old graphics accelerator with the MISTer, I have it running on 5V. Some 12V fans will work at 5V, they will spin slower and be quieter, but with a reduced airflow of course.

EDIT: The board has also got a 9V output (Arduino header).

Not every 12V fan will spin up with 5V.
Try another one or go for a 5V fan.

Can the Roland MT-32 work with the Mister FPGA? if so how do you get it to work and which IO board would i need ?

You would need a MIDI adapter. MIDI for MiSTer is currently in development.

Information about the upcomming MIDI IO board --> viewtopic.php?f=117&t=34579
Information on using a USB MIDI adapter Amiga and ao486 cores (with MT-32) --> viewtopic.php?f=117&t=34599

This is the only place I can think of to ask. So if I'm not getting a usb hub board, what is a good retail usb hub (micro or mini? Whatever is better) that can support more than 2-3 usb devices? Is this possible on this? Been googling for the answer, but I see a few things that lead to nothing. Is there a guide that shows compatibility of certain retail usb hubs for this?

Hey. Thanks for the recommendation. Saw this this morning but I ended up putting a purchase for this one before I saw this reply. Do you or anyone think this would work with a micro to usb adapter?
The hub:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0192LPK5M/
The adapter:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BFYH11Q

Edit: Just wanted to confirm this works when looking for a hub and a dongle converter.

Hello,

I have just received the De10 and i am waiting for addons. I would like to know, what is the best material for attach the heatsink to the chip. I am looking at internet, and maybe the best option is the thermal adhesive (it is not thermal paste).

My addons is not the official one, so the only way to attach the fan to the heatsink is by screws directly to the fan.

Thanks for the help.

looks like there is a new similar spec board

It has not enough GPIOs for SDRAM.
Although it has separate DDR3 chips for sole FPGA use. But i doubt it will be possible to use it anyway due to DDR3 latency. Well, it needs experiments to see if it's still possible to use for retro DRAM emulation and at which degree.

Btw, this SOM absolutely requires its dock board to be able to use for MiSTer. So, price is not attractive any more.

Or this neat looking Cyclone 10 GX add-on module (220k LE's) and Single-Board Computer:

https://up-shop.org/up-ai-edge/231-up-core-plus.html

https://up-shop.org/up-ai-edge/232-up-a ... s-220_kles

For this price though perhaps it would be better going for the ugly but functional:

https://www.terasic.com.tw/cgi-bin/page ... 6&PartNo=1

Or the <$200 Future Avalanche board with Microsemi 300k LE FPGA:

Expensive combo and no way to connect SDRAM, no other expansions are possible. FPGA has no video output. Very expensive.

Ugly, bulky and too expensive.

Pretty much useless. No video output, not enough gpio for SDRAM connection.

There are many FPGA boards around. It doesn't mean all of them should be listed here. For MiSTer porting it must have some specific features.
At least MyIR Z7020 board is more suitable than any listed above.

Yikes, if anybody is willing to fork out $700 for a board, then they might as well design a custom pcb with a non-subsidized Cyclone V.
