I record in 4:3 format.
It also depends on how the graphician had adjusted the TV or monitor when the grapics was done :)
I never seen Leonards note?

It's a feature of last Saint release.

The squares aren't.

Compare with current Steem:

Is it me or is the "sun" above too wide in Steem, correct on real ST?

The emulated display seems to be correct. Here's a resized image of your Steem screenshot:

And the "original":

The emulated image has been scaled to 400x213 pixels to match the aspect ratio.

On my ST's monitor, I had some buttons to center screen horizontally or vertically, and to stretch it in both direction, so I'm not sure we could say there's an "official" aspect ratio to emulate. I know some people didn't like borders and stretched the image to make border as small as possible.
There could be an option in the emulators to strech the resulting image, but it's just a matter of taste.

There are enough magazines online with screenshots.
Another example we know:
AR_3615HMD.jpg

Regularly we see this "higher" aspect ratio, so it seems to be something native to the ST even if one could change it on the monitor.
There will be an option for that in Steem in fullscreen "stretched".

When I ripped The B.I.G. Demo music to YM format in May 1998 using Pacifist 0.48 I got all the tunes from my copy of the Grey version except Action Biker #1 which came from the Blue version.

Nobody has mentioned that the Blue version is also on the Hackbear Menu 2:

From memory I thought it was Locomotion that was bugged but I forgot. The bug and the reason for the Blue version is actually documented somewhere. I think I read it in Disk Maggie or ST News. I think the Grey version is the most widely spread and is probably the first demo I saw on the ST.
Still got, still working: Atari 4Mb STe, 520STFM, 2.5Mb STF.
Hardware: Cumana CSA 354, Ultimate Ripper, Blitz Turbo, Synchro Express II (US and UK Versions).

I can't even get the cursor keys to work in STeem SSE 3.3.0 to select a song. Also return key doesn't work to go into the digital synthesizer menu (I think it's return key). What emulator are you guys using?

The up and down keys work in Steem SSE 3.3.0 anyway, and return selects a song.
Digital is at bottom of the list.
Your joystick config could interfere.
The sound is more faithful with option 'Sampled YM-2149' in later versions.

Here:

Note that in Steem you need option wake-state 1, STF, due to some bugs I can't figure out.
