Ultimate Arena Falcon version?!

Postby moondog/.tSCc. » Wed Jun 14, 2006 1:57 pm

Hello, as it was advertised a lot and if I remember right even reviewed somewhere, I´m just wondering, if a special Falcon version of that game was ever released or if someone got his hands on it... I know there was a playable Falcon demo version around, or at least a file that should be that one... but it was bugged and didn´t run... Can anyone help on this?!

Thanx, Eric

The STE version runs fine on falcon. Apart from that the screenshots from stformat falcon's version review look different-better than the STE one. The only difference should be the enchanced graphics on the falcon.

Postby MacFalcon » Wed Aug 23, 2006 5:58 am

Hi,

I have the demo of the Falcon version here and it looks and sounds much better than the ste version... no idea if the full version was ever released... I also would like to have it :-)

Cheers,

If 6 years are not a too long time to wait, you'll find the falcon version (using ".ST" disk image format) as attachments in this post.
I justed tested it with HATARI and it's working just fine :

(Screenshots made with HATARI 1.6.1. The first two images are from an animated sequence during the intro)

The author was french and he officially declared it was abandonware. If the ".ST" disk image file format doesn't suit you, you'll find the msa files and the user manual at this adress (Thank you TOF ! I never had a Falcon, but I could test falcon emulated games thanks to your website):

http://christophe.bray.free.fr/informatique/falcon/falcon_jeux3.htm#Ultimate%20Arena

It's in french, here's the google translated version.
The msa files are working ok with JayMSA (that's how I made the .ST files)

I hope that you'll come back to this page 6 years after your request, MacFalcon & Moondog !

PS : I don't know if it was because it was emulated but I thought the Falcon was able to do better than this... Anyway, I do criticize but I'm just unable to program something like this...

Thanks a lot :) I will try it asap! Sure the Falcon could do better (e.g. Aazoom Krypht looks much better), but you don´t have much choices if you want a mortal combat clone on the Atari ;)
