If you do get a bike be careful out on the roads. One of my workmates bought a bike and within two weeks was taken to casualty. He had a neck injury and broke both his legs. In one leg he damaged his nerves. He is not expected back at work anytime soon. This after another had a less serious accident four weeks earlier. And just after yet another had a very minor accident not long after that

Remember, it is not just you own skills - it is the errors of others that you have to anticipate...

Learning to ride a motorbike was one of the best things I've ever done - I passed my test a year and a bit ago.

The dangers are there, for sure, but being on a bike is immense fun, and a very economical way to commute, especially in busy cities like where I am, in Bristol. It's true that the majority of bike-related accidents tend to be other drivers failing to notice you - not a dig at car drivers, as I drive a car too. I've had a few times where people have pulled out in front of me and it's been a fairly frightening moment, but you come to expect these things, and you tend to anticipate danger more and ride defensively as a motorcyclist - at least, that's how I was taught.

I find that the benefits and enjoyment I get out of riding a bike completely outweigh the the possibility of danger. Hell, I could get killed in a train wreck tomorrow - why pin it to the motorbike?

Not to say that you shouldn't be very careful, however - not at all. Driving a vehicle, no matter what it is, comes with a lot of responsibility - and I'm sure Alison knows that

I ride a Honda NTV650, what can only be considered a utility bike Big clunky V-twin - and a lot of fun!

Wasn't that the Revere? I think when Performance Bike tested it they called it the Reverend. I thought that was a bit unfair as there was nothing solid, biggish, and just designed as sensible transport out there at the time. Everything in the same market was yesterday's streetfighter without the glassfibre.

The bike was called the Revere up until 1993, then they called it the NTV650. Same bike either way

It is my first bike, and I love it... it's just a bulletproof mile-muncher, with very low maintenance. Shaft-driven, no chain to have to oil... it's cheap to insure, even for a new rider, and it seems to have an unbelievable amount of low-end torque, it'll happily pull away in 3rd, and thump along at 20mph in 5th... it's just fun!

Further to your comment in the video re Massey-Ferguson tractors. The most expensive, quietest, and easiest to drive vehicle I have ever driven was a MF 4000 series. Shame it smelled of pig muck......

We don't just have traffic lights and roundabouts, the powers that be (Bristol City and surrounding councils) mixed the two together
When that did not cause enough chaos they added "bus-gates" and 2+ lanes
But the best is the bus lanes either side of a central island bus stop. Works until one bus wants to overtake another - except with this arrangement they can't!

Stephen Moss was working on a PS1 analogue pad convertor for the Jaguar .. no idea how far he got with making it a reality though.

Well I had it running on my Jaguar at least years JagFest showing that I could controller motor functions, Analogue/Digital mode selection and reporting back (to my laptop via the Skunkconsole) all button presses, analogue values and controller mode. I would say it is 90% complete, there are just a few small improvement tweeks I would like to make to try and get it working better than it is as currently.

Unfortunately I have not had as much time to work on it this year as I would have liked and although the information out on the internet has gotten me this far it was apparent that it was not all complete or nesessarly accurate so I recently purchased a logic analyser and can now see what is actually going on so I should be able to make some progress albeit slow as what the logic analyser has reveiled so far has prompted me to start an almost rewrite of the firmware. I am hoping to have it all compeleted and working to my satisfaction in time for this years Jagfest but we will see how things go.

I have a Logitec trackball with PS2 connector on the end.
With the Pest this would suit me fine.
Would it be possible to have a female ps2 connector fitted directly to the interface.
