How to get .PRG files read via HxC2001

Postby blakespot » Sat Aug 15, 2015 11:09 pm

Some recentnd demoscene releases have been out out in .PRG format, and I want to get them running on my ST via HxC2001. This surely means creating a blank image in an emu and copying the file into that, and copying it to SD card. I am on a Mac and have Hatari right now.

How can I do this? Thanks.

Hello, I have used the HxC_Floppy_Emulator software on a Mac and have been able:

1. Open Disk Browser
2. Create Disk (tried DOS and ST formats)
3. Dragged .PRG in the Disk Browser
4. Save/Export the disk image (tried HFE and ST formats)

However, when I drag these onto my USB stick and bring the USB stick to the Atari, boot, nothing happens! Everytime I double-click on the Floppy A icon it says there is no disk inserted, cancel or retry?

The vendor of this HxC Floppy USB version modified for Atari claimed I should just be able to drag ST or HFE images. I've tried both and none work. Bells ringing for anybody?

Help appreciated,
Bobby

Atari 1040STE,

Without USB plugged in: "F-F" is on the readout while the Atari boots, green light is on, remains "F-F" after successful boot

With USB plugged in: "F-F" for a second, then "000" with, green light is on.

Exactly what i suspected : This is not an HxC Floppy Emulator firmware... The HxC Firmware print "HxC" without stick. So you were scammed with a counterfeiting fw. Can you send me in PM the link/contact of this reseller ? I will have to report it.

To get a true HxC Floppy Emulator firmware : http://hxc2001.com/store

General rule : Avoid all these ebay reseller, directly get the Gotek as-it-is and flash it otherwise you pay twice or more the price.
This is not a difficult task and several thousand have succeed with the hxc fw !

https://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40 ... 2903357493

Here is the recent ad. Now I see HCX compatible in the ad listing. Well I've sent Retronic Design a message and will wait and see.
