does anyone know if this will fit an atari falcon without modification. i dont really want to cut my case

No it doesn't fit a Falcon030 in a desktop case.
The Falcon030 doesn't have much need for a HxC because it cannot play most programs unmodified from floppy disk. They have to be patched and that is usually done on files rather than disk images.
I would strongly recommend you get an ultra-cheap 44-pin IDE->CF or 44-pin IDE->SD adapter if you don't have one. You can quickly and easily transfer files from your PC to the card, plop it in the Falcon and launch from the hard drive icon in GEM (or a GEM replacement) which is the Atari GUI. Rather than booting from disk. PLUS you can have hundreds of games/apps on one card.
If you decide you still want a floppy disk emulator you could try the cheap Gotek drives. Their default firmware supports standard 1.44Mbyte disk drives like the Falcon030 has.
