Postby MrPixel » Thu Feb 01, 2018 12:00 am

XC12 or 1010 will work, there are very few after market ones that I am aware of and ebay should yield the 1010 or 410 pretty cheap, I would imagine.

29 dollars isn't cheap. to me that would be 18 or 10 dollars. so i can't use like an 8 track recorder or something like that?

something more akin to this

No. There is no way to hook into the SIO port, that I know of. If you could mod it, it would end up being more expensive than a $29 1010.

It is cheaper than a XF551, any day of the week. :D SIO2USB would be a better well.option. I tink it can emulate tape loading, but I haven't tried. Disk emulation works really well.

we have an actual 800 at school so it's either shell out the cash for a tape drive or get an amstrad CPC

I don't know why, but this thread feels like 1981. What are you doing with it?
