Mix and match VCS?

Postby nitec0re » Thu Oct 26, 2017 1:14 pm

I'm a little confused by this system. The dates on the hardware seem to be years apart. Is this normal? Or has this system been messed around with?
(I purchased this recently, and decided to give it a little clean). Excuse the poor pictures.

The stamp on the cast says 1981

Here we have 1978

And 1977?

Excuse and ignorance here, it's my first plunge into Atari.

This is pretty normal. The etching only indicates the revision of the board, some revisions were in manufacture for several years, so the date doesn't really tell you anything about the age of the machine - only the serial number can do that to some extent.
Mega"SST" 12, MegaSTE, STE: Desktopper case, IDE interface, UltraSatan (8GB + 512Mb) + HXC floppy emulator. Plus some STE's/STFM's
