Atari Power supply

Postby seastalker » Wed May 25, 2016 3:52 pm

I read somewhere that some XL power supplies were good and some were bad. I recently picked up this sleek one (pictured).
It was advertised as high quality with German parts. It outputs 5.0V and 2A. Essentially it is an XL power ending on a D-Link model JTA0302A.
I love it's small form factor like a cell phone power supply vs the Atari brick. I've only tested power with a quick on/off so far.

Can anyone see this 3rd party product as BAD for the XL over time or have any warnings about its' output power? Thanks.

I have one, and have seen quite a few on the other forum that have got those from ebay, it works great.

Using some versions of the old atari brick ps is like russian roulette for your XL.

There are quite a few threads on atariage discussing the differences between all the various atari branded power supplies.

Atariage.. yes, I think that is where I read that. It showed the old ones but thank you for verifying my new one was a good one to get.
