How does this version compare to the Jaguar?

I have not played it on the Jaguar, so I can't tell.

What advantage the SV offers for this game? Is there a patched version somewhere?

I downloaded it from http://christophe.bray.free.fr/informat ... %20Requiem
It's a fun game but quite slow on a stock Falcon. With just CT60 it's a little bit faster, but with the SV it's huge difference.
So it's not any special version made for CT60 and SV, but the original version runs much better with some more power.

I haven't played Robinsons Requiem, but from what you write, I think I will give it a try so put in my games queue :)
And if it goes for gaming on SV, when I played Quake I felt that through SV it was noticeably smoother than just through CT6x ( guess that some time is wasted to generate video display through ST RAM, so plugging SV releases this bandwidth, so then Falcon horse power can concentrate on the game engine )

That is interesting. I have it on the Jaguar, I will try it out on the stock Falcon, then on the CT60e (as soon as I can get it to work). I don't have a SV yet, but am dying to get one!

I tend to think it will play better on Falcon anyhow, due to it wanting to be a mouse/keyboard game.

I haven't played it extensively at all, it was an early game as far as voice acting, and it is fairly terrible... like worse B movie cringe inducing terrible.. but otherwise a very brutal and challenging game. I had Deus back in the fay, which is its sequel (not to be confused with Deus Ex). Now if we could get Simarils to release source for Deus and have it ported to the CT6x....

I might be wrong but it's possible it works better with SV because it's completely loaded in ST-RAM, in other words, it's highly TT-RAM unfriendly. ;-) So maybe SV's video buffer does wonders here but it feels strange, I was under impression that one has to 'OR' the video base address with 0xAA000000 to put data into SV's memory.

030 ot CT60 mode? Also I could buy joystick but jagpad too?

Also, are you absolutely sure you're using v1.1?
is 73 Falcon patched atari games enough ? ^^

Quake is TT-RAM unfriendly?
Why is that?

IIRC it's 0xA0000000. It's a short cut when patching existing code. Robinsons Requiem likely runs equally fast on non-SV setups, unless someone has implemented said patch.

Yes, I have 1.1 version, 030 mode.

Right, 0xA0. That's what I'm thinking as well, I find it really strange that SV would speed up classic bitplane data written to ST-RAM.

Calimero: we're talking about RR. ;)

I'm not sure if the version that I linked to, have some sort of patch.
But I'm very sure that it runs faster with SV than only the CT63.
I thought it would go much faster when I bought a CT63, but I was
disappointed. But when I bought the SV and tested it, it was super
fast to play.

The real question here is... when are new SuperVidels going to be made? :)

True! I would buy at least two myself. :-)
Having only one is to much excitement, I want to have a spare one.

The slowness is due to the ST-RAM flags of the game executable (don't bother, doesn't work with TT-RAM set).

Still doesn't explain the SV speedup, though.

So I attempted to get Robinson's Requiem CD version to work on my Falcon, but all I managed to get were crashes and eventually a black screen (if I ran it in straight 030 mode). But then I discovered the fun that is file permissions. You see, I copied the extracted files off of my FTP server, where the permissions didn't allow all the files to be read... so I ended up with a bunch of files that had zero bytes....

I'd kind of call that a bug in litchi, though it probably showed me such things in the log... ha

I'll report back once I can get the massive thing (331MB!) over to the Falcon and get it to run, then we can see how the Jag vs Accelerated Falcon matches up.

I think it's on Marcer's FTP server. I found some hangloose archive somewhere at one point and have I think the entirety of his FTP server on my FTP server.

Once I work through the permissions issues on it, I'll probably give people access.

The zip I have is 204mb. Extracted it's about 330mb. I wonder if CosmosEx can emulate a CD-ROM or something...

Hmm, anyone know if the CD version of Robinson's Requiem is the same as Ishar 3 where the DOS version also has the Falcon .prg files on it? The .zip file that I have has a START.PRG, START040.PRG and INSTALL.BAT and START.BAT.

I may see if I can find the CD version on eBay somewhere.
