What do I need to do with falcon8.prg and Calamus. How that patch works, and which Calamus version?

From what I read about Calamus SL and falcon8.prg, it's because Calamus was all about the high resolution monochrome, and you need the falcon8.prg as some sort of memory patch to allow falcon 8bit color (so it requires more than 256 colors, and it also requires at least 800x600 to get it to not complain).

I was thinking of buying the 2015 version and trying it out, now that I have an SV to take me higher than 800x600 :)
