Just to let you know that I have released a new version of my IPF file format documentation.
IPF-Documentation-v12.rar

This information is useful if you want to directly read or write IPF files.

Also as a reminder I have released sometimes ago a version of the CAPS/IPF 4.2 source library that compiles with Visual Studio 2012/2012
IPF-42A-120116.rar

Using this library should be the preferred method for people developing read only solutions.

All this information plus more can be found on my IPF project Web page

New version of IPF file documentation

Personally I think that the IPF format overuses what we call in France the first Shadoks principle
"Why make it easy when you can make it difficult"
- See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Shadoks -

but I guess this is part of the fun :) and normally you do not read or write IPF files by "yourself" as there is a provided IPF library.

But for the brave I have updated my IPF file format documentation.
IPF-Documentation-v13.rar

One of the reason I am studying the IPF format is because I am thinking of adding the capability to write IPF files from Aufit.

Not so easy when you realize that IPF content is not what you would read from the WD1772 but what you would write using for example a KF board connected to a floppy drive.
The big advantage over a dumb copy is that you can write a perfect copy from a crappy source :)
