OK

I still have issue with fullscreen, no border d3d with interpolated scanlines. Ths picture hangs low, missing last part of the bottom.
Without interpolated scanlines fullscreen works perfect.

Not OK :)
I'll look at it but better report bugs in the dedicated thread.

The no D3D build and the boiler should be released this weekend, if there's no big problem.

Thank you! One thing...I can't see my MAGIXROM.IMG in the TOS selection window. Could you change it so it would show up like you did on the regular release?

Yes, forgot this.

While I'm in this thread, a bugfix release v3.8.1 won't be too long to come.

I agree, you have me convinced, and I'll migrate my writings over that that point of view going forwards. I've started a new thread for those kinds of discussions just now, and kicked it off with something I hope might be interesting.

Steem SSE 3.8.1

Steem SSE 3.8.1 has been released on 31 March 2016.
It's a refactoring and bugfix release.

v3.8.1 Features
_________________

- No display if bit 0 of Sync Mode register is set...
YEAH!!! you've been dreaming of this!

v3.8.1 Internal
_________________

- Blitter remove timing hack of v3.8.0 in blit mode
- CPU trace utility uses its official 'tpend' latch
- Video counter reckoning at last separated from rendering
- "Extended monitor" refactoring

v3.8.1 Bugfixes
_________________

- Larger initial disk manager window size
- CPU HALT: reset switch should still work
- YM2149: argh!, disable poorly implemented "dephasing" (Kid Kong)
- Eliminate double checking side overscan (useless CPU load)
- Large display mode refactoring, correcting some raster effects
(Backlash -TEX, etc.)
- Fix 413x275 display mode, no stretch, in medium resolution
- Fix 413x275 display mode, scanlines
- Don't enable keyboard click if a program disabled it
(Pump ab das Bier by The Confederacy)
- STE had STF-like wake-up state modifiers in WU2
So now WU2 on STE means GLUE WS1 (!) and Shifter "dots" on Spectrum 512 pics
- Fix shifted picture with options: no border, fullscreen, D3D, interpolated
scanlines

Star tester was Amilo again.

Perfect Steven.
Fullscreen D3D, no border, interpolated scanlines works perfectly.
Nice work.

i love particularly the Border option. Without it on some intros of the disk menus, the picture is munched without it. Great great feature :)

The border option was always in Steem.
Different border sizes is SSE specific, a fascinating area of emulation!
For example, the original border corresponds to the picture of a typical LCD TV, while the large border (413x275) is more like a CRT monitor.

Hello!
I was wondering if someone could help me out. I used to use Steem all the time but have been away from ST emus for a while.
Coming back I found my mouse cursor drifts whenever it's moved.
I tried the latest download from these forums hoping this wouldn't be a "thing" anymore, but sadly no luck.
Any help or guidance would be massively appreciated (I wanna play Hero Quest!)
THAAANKS!

People regularly complain that Steem SSE settings are confusing.
To simplify a bit, while also keeping the executable small and mean, the main build will be Direct3D9-only, the alternative build will be DirectDraw2-only for maximal compatibility.

So instead of those confusing fullscreen options:

options_fullscreen_dd+d3d.png

Oh dear!

The main build (D3D9) will show this:

options_fullscreen_d3d.png

It's hard to do simpler :)

And the compatible build (DD2):

options_fullscreen_dd.png

Familiar, and should be working on modern systems too now.

The new "FullScreen GUI" option isn't guaranteed to work, so if you uncheck it fullscreen will come back to windowed mode when stopping the emulation.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

I wonder if you are planning to include .DIM (F-Copy and E-Copy versions) support in the future?

Are there publically available DIM images that Steem won't load?
If yes, link please and I'll check this out.

There's an intermediate problem, both Windows 10 and WinRAR 5.11 tell me the iso inside the archive is corrupt!
