links in Steem

Postby Steven Seagal » Sat May 02, 2015 11:45 am

Doing something long due, updating links in Steem. Many are dead.
If you want me to add some, the timing is right as next Steem release is still planned for tomorrow!

And what about site with over 800 harddisked games, Game Archive with many fixed problematic games ? :D
English language is like bad boss on workplace: it expecting from you to strictly follow all, numerous rules, but self bending rules as much likes :mrgreen:

Of course, not sure your site is already there.
Could you give a name (like in screenshot) + link?

Thinkering some short name is always hard.
Hard disk fixed games http://atari.8bitchip.info/fromhd.php
Game archive with fixes http://atari.8bitchip.info/ASTGA/astgam.php

Steem 3.7.1 was already released, with one link to your site, and many link corrections.

Dear Steven,

I see that Avtandil site was gone in new links version, any particular reason for that ?

Yes: I think it was never in, but don't worry I added it to last version.

I added it in v3.7.1, remember those links are in 'steem.new'.

To be exact - it was in latest STeem release 3.2, then disappeared when STeem became open sourced and we already discussed this here - viewtopic.php?f=94&t=21634&p=198859#p198859 - item r65, but you postponed to implement it... :D

Here are the current links as they appear in the 'infobox' of Steem.
Could the interested people signal errors/omissions before the end of the month?
I removed Atari Legend for exemple.

Dear Steven,

I see that you also rewrote About info - instead of people who helped in STeem development there are artists names now, was it intended ?

Re: links in Steem

Hello Dima,

Yes it's intentional since v3.9.0.
Here's the reason:

Code: Select all

/* in v3.9.0 we remove the thanks because they're outdated, maybe some other
  people should be thanked more today, but making up a list, forgetting
  someone... brr...
*/

/* so instead, same silly greetings as in demo SSE3.5, typo corrected for Mr JCVD!
*/

That's why I preferred to greet actors instead. Even if I forget one, they won't complain.
When I thank someone for helping Steem I do it in the source or the release notes.
And that's why I bumped this thread: so that people can't complain if I forgot the link. :angel:
