Drag'n'Drop executable files request

Postby Cyprian » Mon May 05, 2014 7:24 pm

Hi Steven,
would be possible to add an auto start for Drag'n'Droped executable files like PRG/TOS/APP/TPP?

This would be a nice feature, indeed! I asked the Hayward bros. about that almost 15 years ago, but without success.

It's executable, right? :)

If I get it right, you want to drag a PRG or TOS file on Steem icon and it would launch it?
Or in the Disk manager, it would be possible to double click and it would start?
I don't say no, as I'd like something like that too, but I already have a nice TODO list.
In the meantime, what I do with those: if they're inside zip files, right click in Disk manager, option "MSA Converter", 'Convert to Disk Image'.

ops, my fault. of course "executable" and no "exacutable" :)

drag PRG/TOS files onto this window:

From time to time I cross-compile my own small applications for Atari. Currently, every time when I have to check how it works, I have to open GEM's hard disk C (inside Steem) and double click PRG file.
Actually I think that would be faster just to drag and drop that file onto Steem window.

That is another feature. Would be also cool to have it and it works in Hatari :)

I didn't know it works in Hatari, I'll have a look there.
In the meantime you may also have a special instance of Steem that will boot into your C folder, simply using "save desktop".
This folder may be the output of the cross-compiler.
