We don´t tell publicly. For very very good reasons.

Aha, you are the first one in the worrld, who ever titeled FireBe "vapourware". interresting.

Thanks, and well the hardware is made by Medusa. Butthe ACP is doing a great Job to fill the Board with some live, and geting the project up and running!

Well, seems I have to convince Beetle to bring his Firebee to the next Xzentrix party so I can have a close look. No need to ship from afar for just giving a try ;)

I assume, there is no deadline and if I make a decision in the future, I will still be able to order?

ok

Exactly. Only problems could occure, if we are sold out, and only 10 or 20 people demand new boards, than we would have to wait for reasonable order volumes for new series.

Just read through http://acp.atari.org, very impressed, you've got a lot of people together and most importantly got the software to back it up, even the old developers have modified they're software for FireBee.

Who is it being marketed at, I presume the Atari Enthusiast and not further afield just yet?

I'm so glad someone is continuting the 'Atari' computer line, I'd personally thought it would end with the Falcon/CT63 and that still required you getting a working Falcon off fleabay. A new purchase for an Atari clone is to be congratualated i just hope you get as much compatiblilty with older 'professional' Apps as possible.

Games is very much an afterthough i would imagine but how compatible is it with ST games?

Thanks for the kind words!

The games are not our field! There is Wolfgang Försters project the Suska board. It implements a STE and planned a Falcon in 1:1 His hardware is much more usable for games as he tries to reach the original: http://experiment-s.de/en/

Our target groups are the enthusiasts first - of course. The next step is the professionals form the audio and layout fields who still use atari equipment (we already had several requests from this groups). Then the former Atari Users and Open Hardware enthusiasts. Former Atari Users shall get the opportunity to order a working and complete computer without the need to solder something.

If we are able subsequently to get total new users will be seen. But that is definitely my aim. m0n0 is the only total new user/developer we got recently, but such people are the target to step foreward to a stable productivity niche platform.

Do we have any updates? Have any of the pre-orders with the new case been shipped? I have an empty spot on my desk that is waiting for my FireBee and one of these fantastic cases.

(I feel like a young child waiting to open his holiday gifts.)

The issue is, I have to deal with houndret of "cutty" childs, all in my spare time

So let's follow the transparency-attitude of this project. :)
The good news about the the cases is: yesterday I agreed with Railcargo about a shipping date to Switzerland. The cases will leave Vienna definitely at mondays at 11 o'clock. Their Rail travel to Switzerland will take till Wednesday for the nearly 1000 km and the clearing formalities. That means shipping will start end of next week or beginning of the week after.
The next good issue is, the case and packaging is damn cool. By the sweat of our brows, we worked here the last 10 days for hours every day, and did a damn cool packaging, including several nice documents. Beside the Bee and the case you will recive a packaging consiting of 10 items - just as a little teaser! 8)

So I ask you to be patient until we will start the official shipping in the upcoming days. ;)

Thanks for the update, Mathias. I'm trying to follow all the news and updates in my free time. I suspect we will have several happy FireBee owners very soon.

Many thanks to all the members of the FireBee / ACP team! You guys are awesome!

Will there be a blue or black case left when I order one next month, or will I have to stick to the red Lady's model?

For blue or black, I would send a preorder to acpinfo ät atari dot org, as they are getting ordered all the time. Grey ones will be left. And the magenta one is for us real cool guys! You should see them in real live – 100% TOP! ;)

Time to start clicking the "Check for New Email" button every 30 seconds. So far, only some SPAM about Viagra, and inheriting 1 Million US Dollars from a Nigerian prince.

In this case there are 3 two pron connectors. One is for the speaker and one is for the power indicator. Where does the third one go?
