I was looking for a floppy disk drive and I found something else.

Postby Atarieterno » Sun Jan 07, 2018 1:45 pm

Hi guys;
I will tell you this anecdote: last night I went to my parents' house and there I have a lot of Atari material stored in boxes. I was looking for an external floppy drive, but it is not easy to find it because there are boxes inside other boxes (to take advantage of the storage space) and it is necessary to open them and take them out as a "matrioshka". I looked at several boxes without success, I still have not found the external floppy drive, but in a box of Atari Falcon (I have an F030 and a C-Lab MKX) I found something that I did not remember I had it: another Atari Falcon !!
So I have two F030 and one C-Lab and I did not remember it. Surely at some point in the closing of Atari and the hysterical abandonment of some users, I bought that Falcon for "backup" of mine, I kept it well protected and it has been stored for 25 years.

That's some find. Still has yellowing despite being shielded from sunlight! Did you dare to try and power it up?

I dit not power up, I left it in its bag and box, in this visit I could not occupy so much time.
These days I am very busy trying to record audio in a more difficult way: with the Mega STe and the TT.

My interest with Atari is mostly musical, although there is always a place for video games and general applications whose only limitation is finding a good printer today.
I am preparing an HP 510.

Great find indeed.... you had a great "boxing" day after Dec 26.

Thank you all for your comments.
I would like to change an Falcon030 for an STbook, it is my preferable option before to put it on sale.
