Mmm, more detailed pictures than on Facebook!

Looks like you've scored a nice rig there. Any hard drive with it?

UltraSatan works just fine if you don't have one :-)

It has a scsi hard disk in there which doesn't work according to the previous owner, but I will investigate when I get it back to the workshop :)

Probably just due to old age. You should try to get a spare 50pin SCSI-1 hd.

Just reply on FB 8)

Maybe the DD needs to be remove and dust. (Warn at the lead of the led)

First advice :
1/ Boot normally and wait a little to see the LGD (some noises must come from the DD).
2/ Put a floppy with HD drivers (or another drivers), reboot and see if you DD is detected.

If it not detect, see the references of the DD and adjust them on configuration file of the HD drivers of Atari.

Good luck :)

Common failure those old HD's. Myn was also bad and I replaced it with a IBM 4.3 Gb 50 SCSI-1
Works again like a dream (using HDDriver). Only thing still is the DD floppy, stil have to
replace that. TOS 2.06 is already in ;)
Great machines esp. due to the right case they are in. This is the one the should have used
with the Falcon !

Well the machine works fine, haven't looked at the hard disk yet, hooked it up to my progate HD and booted SELTOS and UK 2.06 + Xcontrol.acc. Superb machine I have to say, love the case too. As soon as I get my hands on an ultrasatan it'll be perfect.

Hey this is nice MEGA :)

I like the idea with the PICO PSU. I would like to use one in my TT. The original power supply is very load. How do you want to connect additional -5V?

I'm going to use a regulator -12v to -5v :)

Nice catch! I've always had a soft spot for MSTEs, and TOS 2.x is sweet

Let us know how you get on with the PSU. I'm thinking about fitting a Micro-ATX in the TT when I have some cash to spare, so it'll be interesting to see how others approach it. Have fun with the baby!

I am afraid there is not enough current. According to the specification of PicoPSU-150-XT there is only 0.05A at the -12V branch. MEGA STE/TT power supply has 0.3A at -12V and 0.4A at -5V branch. So I think it is necessary to do it other way even with the -12V. The other question is how much Amperes the MEGA STE or TT take from "-" branches.

I thought this might be the case not having looked at the current draw specs of the MegaSTE yet, I'll investigate an alternative.

Tried 3 different shifter chips and finally found one that likes GFA Raytrace without glitches (after sync @8MHz).
Been putting the MegaSTE through it's paces with demos etc... so far so good 8)

Does anyone know what the -5v and -12v lines are for on the Mega STE?

I've downloaded some schematics but they're so poor quality and really hard to read. :(
