Medway Boys Protector III is the blue one. It works for me with TOS 1.62, 1Mb, STE on STEEM 4.01
Protector III was very short-lived. It was supposed to be the last one but shortly after it was released 3.1 came out.

Medway Boys Protector IV was the best. It was the purple one.
Still got, still working: Atari 4Mb STe, 520STFM, 2.5Mb STF.
Hardware: Cumana CSA 354, Ultimate Ripper, Blitz Turbo, Synchro Express II (US and UK Versions).

I have tried 4Mb and it works for me. There is a corrupt version of TOS 1.62 floating about - make sure you're not using that It caused me problems with all sorts of random behaviour.

The fixed v4 was done to get around it crashing on 4MB machines (in general) from memory.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

The Medway Boys Protector III also crashes on a real STE with TOS 2.06de. This thing is buggy in any case. I always just replace it with something else.
