The game was cracked by Klapauzius.

He said that it was a great pain, as the game is coded in GFA and the protection is very tricky !

Klaz, could you give some precisions ?

Hello mister d.m,

I think you can download some game in the "cracked" version on atari-legend like Masque+.

Hehe.. yes, disk-wise it wasn't very special (one protected sector + one protected track). These were used for some decryption (two layered, IIRC) - not that bad for 1987.
But as DM said, the protection was embedded in compiled GFA basic code, and I hate compiled GFA basic with all of my heart (from the hacker's point of view)... ;-)

I'll have to admit, much as I've used it, GFA produces some snippets of code that are a monstrocity!

Yep, I remember that compiled GFA sometimes takes about 30 lines of machine code to modify a single variable. :)
It's a wonder that the compiled code runs relatively fast though...

Especially the for...next code is very bad :(

The only routine that was crystal clear was the SPLINE command :)

Wow what a bounty! I remember seeing these games on a French Atari website as missing 2 years ago. Well in one swoop you found a dozen I had as missing! There is one game, a World War 2 advesnture named "The Few" that was never published according to that site. In any case, dungeon.master, merci beaucoup for your treasure sharing.

Kind regards, Fred the Buttock.

As we release more and more via Atari Legend, keep your eyes on the Beast and his collections :)
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).

I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Btw, if you should prefer cracked versions of these games, they are all available at the Atari Legend website. ;-)

Cheers
